BTA Deep Hole Drilling is a technique utilized for drilling extremely deep and precise holes in metal components, particularly when the depth exceeds the diameter of the hole. The method derives its name from the Boring and Trepanning Association.
In this process, a specialized drill tube facilitates the high-pressure coolant to pass around its exterior, reach the cutting zone, and expel the metal chips through the center of the drill. This approach ensures that the drilling operation is executed efficiently, quickly, and with great accuracy.
BTA drilling finds widespread application across industries such as oil & gas, aerospace, and hydraulic systems for the purpose of creating deep cavities in items like gun barrels, hydraulic cylinders, and machine components.
